El Solo Shelties came
into existence in a rather round-about way. I began many
years ago by breeding cats. First there were the Siamese,
but their chatty nature made them hard to live with in large
numbers.
After the Siamese came the Persians. While involved with
the cats, I became enamoured of Collies, and decided to get
myself a show dog. That first dog was the start of an
obsession which changed over the years, and included a
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel along the way. I eventually targeted the
smaller Shetland Sheepdog as "the breed for me"! After a bit
of trial and error, and some assistance form various
breeders, El Solo Shelties became well established.
